AAGS Travel Scholarship
AAGS Travel Scholarship is awarded to the top presenter at AAGS Assembly. The goal of the award is to support participation of the scholar at a future global surgery conference to allow networking and opportunities for cross collaboration.
First scholarship was awarded in collaboration with Operation Smile to Dr. Siddhesh Zadey from India. Dr. Zadey received the top presenter award for "Population-level Cesarean Section Rates in India: A Retrospective Analysis of Districts and States from 2011 to 2019" at AAGS Assembly. The scholarship supported Dr. Zadey’s attendance at the 64th Annual Conference of the West African College of Surgeons where AAGS also held a session.
AAGS Future Leader Scholarship
Future leader scholarship is developed to support trainees to attend and present their work done within the organization at a national/international meeting.
First awardee of this program was Dr. Riya Sawhney’s from India-Canada who presented work by the Advocacy Committee, titled "Pathways to Equitable Clinical Exchanges" at the annual conference of the Consortium of Universities in Global Health 2024.
